Over the summer, Dtella undergoes regular maintenance to keep services up to date while minimizing impact on users on campus.

This summer, Box1, Box2, Box4 and the Dtella@Purdue installer are scheduled for updates which will require them to go offline for short periods of time. While this process will be as fast as possible, there are some actions you can take to minimize or eliminate any concern for yourself.

8/17/16 ~ 6pm-12am ESTBox4 will be undergoing network configuration upgrades and improvements. Box4 IRC will be the only affected service. In order to prepare, ensure that your IRC client is connected to Box1, Box2, or Box3’s IRC servers (this can be seen in the server welcome message) temporarily. If you use irc.dtella.net, your DNS should failover to another server automatically, but you can also change manually to switch more quickly.

COMPLETE 6/14/16 ~ 6pm-12am EST Box2 will be undergoing operating system upgrades and updates. Box2 IRC, theTardis, and all ServeBeer websites will be down. In order to prepare, ensure that your IRC client is connected to Box1’s IRC (this can be seen in the server welcome message) temporarily. If you use irc.dtella.net, your DNS should failover to box1 automatically, but you can also change manually to switch more quickly.

As any additional planned updates are finalized and their impacts are analyzed, this page will be updated with information on how you can prepare.

Check back often, and if you have any questions, contact cat or burg on IRC. Thanks for your understanding!
